Foodbank is open every Wednesday 12pm – 2pm
Emergency food from the Church Larder is available everyday when the church is open.
The foodbank is facing unprecedented demand at the moment. We are attempting to feed over 400 refugees in Hayes Town and top up the incredibly small amount of money they receive to feed themselves. In the last weeks our supplies have been totally wiped out.
If you are able to help by donating items from the list below we would be very grateful. You can also give a cash gift which we can use to purchase items desperately needed. You can donate using the PayPal donate link here:
Here at St. Anselm we take very strongly the charge to feed those who are hungry, to give water to those who are thirsty and to care for those most in need. As part of that mission we operate a Foodbank and Church Larder.
The Foodbank is open every Wednesday from midday to 2pm – at the Foodbank we’ll give you three days of food and will refer you to agencies who can help you access help for housing, benefits and so on. We also have a volunteer from the Citizens Advice Bureau who can offer a wide range of further support.
The Church Larder is open whenever the church is (check our calendar for opening times). It offers emergency food whenever it’s needed. We are also able to provide hot noodles, water etc. as well as referrals into Street Link and other emergency housing support.
If you’d like to support this vital work we are always in need of donations.
Our currents needs are:
- Instant noodles
- Dog food
- Tinned fruit
- Tinned meat
- Tinned soup
- Long life milk
- Toiletries
- Washing powder for laundry
- Plastic bags
You can also support the work of the Foodbank by making a donation via our Giving page.
We do not require a voucher, have no limit on how often you use the Foodbank and will offer people as much of a choice over what they need as we can. All are welcome, none are turned away.
